Tooth Enamel Microabrasion

For some types of stains and tooth defects such as “scarring” from braces or minor fluorosis, microabrasion of the enamel can be used to “smooth” the surface of the tooth and remove the stains or defects. A barrier is placed over the gums and an abrasive paste is used to remove an ultra-thin layer of damaged enamel.
