Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are made of a thin shell of porcelain that is bonded to the teeth. They are stronger and more esthetic than other laminates (ie. bonding), and will not change colour over time. Porcelain veneers are often recommended to close spaces between the teeth, change the shape of short or small teeth, enhance the appearance of teeth that are crooked when using braces is not desired , and restore broken or discoloured teeth.
The procedure involves two appointments. The first involves removal of a thin layer of enamel in order to prepare the surface for the veneer.A temporary set of veneers are placed until the final veneers are bonded. During the second visit the final custom porcelain veneers are bonded to the teeth.
