Tooth Extraction
Dental extractions are required when a tooth is severely decayed, for orthodontic reasons, to prevent future infections or complications and when periodontal disease causes extensive bone loss around a tooth. Before any extraction is done, local anesthetic is used to make sure the patient is totally “numb” or “frozen”. A set of post-operative instructions are given to the patient to follow for home care afterward. If you have any questions after an extraction you should call the office immediately and talk to a professional.
